Mandy Mansfield, our Principal, has worked in the legal field since 1999, and has managed the North Law team since she joined them in 2004. At North Law, she helps people move into a brighter, more financially stable future. She is a mother of 2 adult children and is raising her nephew, who attends HCA. Mandy loves the Lord and serves Him in a motorcycle ministry called United for Christ. She is married and loves spending time at the beach with friends and family. She attends TrueVine Church in Chesterfield. Mandy was the Head of the Entertainment Department, planned and scheduled all field trips, coordinated all musical presentations and substitute taught in all of our classrooms during the 21-22 school year. We are excited to have her step up to this very important role.
Amy Hunter, our PreK, Kindergarten, and Art instructor, has a Bachelors of Science in Social Work from Longwood University. She has been teaching Pre-Kindergarten and Junior Kindergarten in the Richmond/ Hanover area for 25 plus years. In addition; she has taught the Ready, Set , Read! (a reading readiness program based on UVA’s Pals Assessment program) for seven years. This summer, Amy developed a Reading Readiness Enrichment class out of her home called Bookworms. Her goal in the classroom is to bring your child to his/her highest level of readiness for their next grade level. Amy enjoys traveling; gardening; spending time with her family and of course TEACHING. She taught PreK and Kindergarten at HCA during the 2021-2022 school and we're so excited to have her back at the new location!
Allie Nye, our History teacher, will also be teaching 1st and 2nd grade Math and English and 3rd grade Math. She grew up overseas, spending the majority of her childhood in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Prior to teaching she worked at VCU in the pediatric primary care clinic. Before that Allison had an in-home daycare. Her hobbies include hanging out with her family and friends, exploring nature and gardening. She has 2 sons, 1 daughter who attends the co-op and lives in the Mechanicsville area. She taught 4th and 5th grade at HCA during the 2021-2022 school and we're so excited to have her back at the new location!
Sarah Pollack, our Dance/Music Instructor, will also be teaching 4th & 5th grade Math and English, and 3rd grade English has a bachelor’s degree in Health Studies from James Madison University and is one class shy of having a Dance Minor.
Andrea Winner, our Devotions Leader, has a bachelor’s degree in Culture, Religion, and Mission from Eastern Mennonite University. She is one class shy of a Biblical studies major. She is married with one child who attends HCA. Andrea enjoys riding her bike, reading, and traveling with family. She has previously worked as a custodian and as a daycare worker. She enjoys helping other people out and is looking forward to leading the devotions this year.
Elisabeth Foley, our Science Teacher, holds a Bachelors Degree from Furman University and has been educating children in a supplemental and head teaching capacity for six years. She became a full-time homeschool teacher two years ago and since that time has become passionate about teaching children all areas of study with a Biblical foundation. She will be teaching Science from the Sassafras Science Curriculum which focuses on learning science through storytelling and applying the lessons learned through activities and experiences.
